Biography

Miranda Secondari is a choreographer and performer.

Her choreographic practice explores precise, time-extended movements that generate unexpected images and create a state of presence as a form of resistance. Working between stillness and mobility, she investigates the tension between subject and object, emphasizing the dynamic relationship between body and space. Each performance engages with its environment, while objects, costumes, and sounds on stage acquire meaning and symbolic value in the composition. She holds a degree in Garden Architecture and Landscape Design. During her training, she was influenced by artists including Romeo Castellucci, Yasmine Hugonnet, and Silvia Rampelli. She has worked as a dancer with Lucia Latour’s company Altroteatro and, in subsequent years, has collaborated as a performer, choreographer, and assistant choreographer with several artists. Her collaborations include the musician Nicola Ratti, and she also created the choreography for Krapfen, a film by artist Diego Marcon.

Her most recent works, L’assente and GHERMINELLA, have been presented in dance, theatre, and performance festivals, as well as in galleries and art institutions, including: Centro Pecci (Prato); Galleria T293 (Rome); Centro Culturale XNL (Piacenza); Fondazione Michetti (Pescara); Raum – Xing (Bologna); Short Theatre – Festival of Performing Arts (Rome); the programme Tra questa gente esiste un sentimento – Teatro Petrella (Longiano); Festival Ammutinamenti – Network Anticorpi XL (Ravenna).
