In Fall 2026 Bergen Internasjonale Teater will spend its first month in its new venue called Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus, Bergen’s former public swimming pool which was transformed into a theatre. After eighteen years of being a theatre without theatre Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus will become BIT’s new home which we will test from October till December 2026 in form of a “TESTIVAL”. In March 2027, the official opening then will take place together with Carte Blanche, Norway’s National Dance Company, with whom we will share the house.
The TESTIVAL will allow BIT to get to know the venue’s personality and peculiarity. It will be a stretched festival dedicated to experiment and excitement going together with artists and guests through first creations and experiences.
In case you need any complementary information please contact BIT’s Curating Producer Ingrid Ellestad ingrid@bitteater.no.
Deadline is 4 October 2026.
